I read in a recent article that the USA only enter wars when they think that the enemy have nothing left to offer.I find this amazing, i mean, we all know that their troops are the worst trained in the world and that they cant shoot at the enemy without hitting a few of the best trained British soldiers first, but as a so called SUPERPOWER i think this is cowardly. If they are a SUPERPOWER why cant they afford better training for the troops who are so gung ho, but utterly terrible in battle,Sure they can drop bombs, but thats about it.nuff said

Can you name your reference? If so, then post it and let us all read it. If not, well then its as I have said before. Why are people like this guy and the one above me make assumptions and don't even listen to what they are saying. Mike. you don't make any sense and you have not basis. Go back to high school and put down the joint because you have smoked yourself retarded.

BTW bulimpact, you seem to be caught up in your own propaganda. That is all you are doing. You have no facts and no basis for such assumptions. I have served in Desert storm and served with soldiers from other countries. They are inferior. The only group that I have seen with good military skills is North and South Korea. The have been superior to most but the only reason we beat them in mock combat situations was because we are better trained. You don't know what it is to be a warrior otherwise you would not say such things. You are a cheerleader on the sidelines screaming at the crowd to listen to you cheer. Others just don't seem to get it. Oh yeah, the special forces missions you hear about are false. Most of them aren't even told because they are Special Warfare, and that means Secret. Do you really think you know what is going on...I don't think so. You don't even have a clue. You are bought out by your own propaganda and fail to see what is truth.

Why do people have to put stupid questions like this drivel.
Come on lets get real, the initial question is OK, but what you've written below heading is deeply insulting to all those USA soldiers, airmen and sailors that gave their lives.

The fact is mate, that we depended on the USA because without their support even before they entered WW2 we would not have survived without them, full stop.

The Great War was slightly different. When the USA entered the war the German economy and it's people were already suffering very badly (They were already on a downward spiral and would of lost the war in the end anyway). Also the thought of millions of fresh troops arriving from the USA must of been soul destroying for the German High Command and the ordinary soldier because they knew they could never win.
And just to put you straight on one other thing, even in the Great War there was a US soldier I can't remember his name (may of been a Pte York) who single handly captured over 130 German soldiers and destroyed a number of machine guns nest. That's real bravery for you my boy, so don't forget it.

The cost of these two World wars devastated Britain. What I will say is that the USA actually made a profit (I believe) out of WW2, but that's another matter entirely.

Some point to consider. The US armed forces is:

1) hollywoodized

they mix fact with fiction to come up with a different kind of "truth." American soldiers think they are playing the part in a hollywood war movie. They deploy some "elite special forces here and there" and when the operation goes awry, they act like it is the most surprising thing in the world that they think they can't go wrong, or be defeated. What do they think? they have superman soldiers?

2) spoiled

they whine a lot for any lack they have.

What makes a good soldier is far more than toys and gadgets. It is discipline and the warrior mind set, and other armies have much more of it.

3) NOT THE BEST TRAINED!!

They have this twisted view of other armies as "inferior in training." All soldiers are trained how to fight, and no fighter can ever be BEST. there is always someone BETTER out there, or someone who CAN knock the sense out of you.

invididual soldiers make up a whole army. an army is only as good as the soldiers that make it up. But because of its economic might, America is having its grand time. FOR NOW.

Most senoir American soldier killed during WWII was killed by.........The Americans. In the first Gulf War more British soldiers were killed by the Americans than by the enemy. There is not enough space on this site to list US military blunders. Shooting down an Iranian Airbus with 290 people on board has to be up there though. I wouldn't want an American with a gun and a "shoot first ask questions later" attitude standing near me.

yea maybe last but we are always hopeful that others are Strong enough to do the hard fight. I mean really look at the list of country's liberated or protected by America. (in France's case all future liberation's have been canceled). And we are the superpower because No country can stand against us. None.
you sound French or possible French Canadian....am i right.

I can't speak for the training of the troops, but I wish what you were saying about the US entering wars last was totally, 100% true. For example, it would have been nice if the US had never entered Iraq, or at least hadn't entered it for trumped-up reasons.

The USA has never gone to war without first 'telegraphing' their intention to do so. When you are told that Iran is on the list, believe it. The build up is already starting to happen. I do not believe 20,000 more US troops will be doing very much in Iraq. It could take three to six months to get them in place. Much more likely they will be used in cleanup operations in Iran following 'shock and awe'.

There's some unfinished business in Iran. Remember the US Embassy siege? Can't let them get away with that, can we?

Cause they wait till it's a problem for America.

Look at them good on about the war again.

They point they are missing is it's not about a country winning a war, it about the unity of the world beating dicatorship.

Wouldn't except many of them to understand that though.

they have the best equipment but lack the skills to use it, so they wait til the enemy is nearly stuffed & swoop in to proclaim themselves heroes when they win. but i guess the japanese can thank the us for dropping the atomic bombs on them, bcoz now thanks to their guilt they have made the japanese into an economic powerhose
