How does one "over care" ?
If one "cares" they will learn the proper methods to employ

The most usual problem in the general neighborhood of what you have said here--- is the propensity of people to OVER WATER plants---and, if they truly CARED for the plant-- they would learn what that particular plant needed in that -- as well as other respects !!!

'Too much care' would be too much water or the incorrect amount or balance of fertilizer. Are you talking houseplants???..As a general rule, for indoor and outdoor plants, if you take care of the roots, the top will take care of itself. Soak houseplants when the soil becomes dry about 1 to 1 1/2 inches below soil surface. The roots need oxygen. Fertilize only in warmer months when there is active growth. Use a slow-release. As for outdoor plants the same applies....Water long and deep

They can.

Different plants need different conditions - water, fertilizer, soil conditions (pH, etc.).

Too much watering can kill a plant that does not need a lot of water for example. Not enough water for a plant that needs wet soil conditions may kill it.

When you purchase a plant, become familiar with the conditions and type of soil they like and care for them accordingly. Directions for care are usually provided with plants when you buy them at a Garden Center. You can also find many useful sites via the internet - you just have to know what kind of plant you have.

Houseplants tend to die frrom overwatering, or fertilizer applied too often. Out door plants can die from irregular watering or fertilizer applied at the wrong time of year. Other things kill plants as well, but those are the improper care related ones.

Too much care? If you are providing the plants light source then Yes, you can burn the plant with too many watts. Over-watering will hurt the plant because of its roots and their need for oxygen. Too many nutrients will lock up the plants ability to take them in. Also if you give it a BIG lovin hug, you can crush it.......

Too much care could be contributed to too much watering, over handling, or too much fertilizer that humans think of as plant "food". Plants also have "stress" from being moved from different environments, so they are especially tender right after you buy them and bring them home.
