my french friend seems very romantic: pleasant, courteous, genuine...i'm wondering if this is a coincidence or if most french men are like this.

That is such a stereotype. I have met many romantic Frenchmen, and many macho Frenchmen. I do think that European men do tend to be more attentive in the foreplay and more appreciative of women as women and not Barbie dolls. Still, it really does depend on the man.

that's a mythe my boyfriend is french a he is cold as a iceberg not romantic whatsoever.

it mostly depends on the person.not all french guys are polite and romantic.
