I am 5 cm. dialated and 90% effaced, I've been walking regularly all around the house, but my contractions stay about 7 minutes apart. They actually did try to induce me yesterday, but the contractions faded!! How unfair, full blown labor for 6 hours and no baby!!! Please help!!

Assuming you are not having braxton-hicks contractions...Red rasberry tea usually works ( so does sex,actually...If your water hasn't broken yet.)

Try to get some rest, stay hydrated, and eat something light.

Take a hot shower or bath.

When labor stalled out with my last baby, we sent everyone out of the house, my husband and I went in our room and shut the door, turned down the lights, lit a candle, and just chilled out. He was reading a book - "The Birth Partner" by Penny Simkin - and tried one of the techniques. There is an accupressure point on the back of your leg on your Achille's Tendon, about 4 fingers- width above your ankle. When he massaged this spot, I had two huge contractions in a row. After that, I was ready to get in the tub and the baby was born just an hour or so later.

Remember what animals do when they give birth; they crawl into a dark, quiet place by themselves. Maybe you need some quiet time to prepare yourself emotionally to give birth.

Best wishes!

I think that you should let it come naturally, but I have heard of eating spicy food and drinking/swallowing fish oil. Actually, anything that induces dihorrea helps in inducing the baby

You should walk or let your husband/ boyfriend Play with your nipples (and I'm not joking about this) It'll happen when it's time but that will help alot!

I heard nipple stimulation makes labor progress. Have your husband suck on your nipples or stimulate them your self. Sounds freaky but I've seen it work twice! Good luck and Congratulations early.

Nothing you're not already doing. Hang in there... it'll happen when it's time.

My doctor use to say, this baby won't be early or late... she'll be RIGHT ON TIME!! HER TIME!!
