There would need to be a massive collective shift, particularly in "power" ..... thats not really where my faith lies. I like to bring things close to home, where I can do something about the problems in life ... so I go within....I look at all the little wars I create and amend them or work on them. I am not in control of other peoples choices but I am in control of how I RESPOND/REACT to those choices... and thats where the empowerment lies.....
...... will it bring an end to war, probably not .... unless its a collective shift...but it will make a ripple and ripples continue to move outward....so lets choose the kind of ripples we make carefully =)

People are working on that. Not enough hippies and liberals. They all sold out to become something that is money motivated. We need youth that are against war but so many want to serve not dodge war. These brave new youths of today are to be admired to lay down their lives for the freedom of opressed people. Hippies were such sissies. I am against war but sometimes it seems it doesn't help. It will wear these terrorists out eventually. It is kill or be killed and we should not cut out like we did in Viet Nam and Korea. We should never cut an run. These colors don't run. Red, White and Blue. There is nothing more noble than to lay down one's life for another. War never seems right most of the time but what starts them will never be right ever.

In your neighborhood, which person is most likely to get a rock thrown through his window:
(a) The one with the guns who bullies and threatens everyone.
(b) The one who is polite and courteous to others.
The USA is (a) and 9/11 was the rock.

- Osama bin Laden, October 2004 video
While I agree that bin Laden is a loon and a danger to everyone, he makes a relevant point. Why haven't Al Qaeda attacked countries that didn't invade or threaten muslim countries?
It's just another example of the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. Because chances are, if you treat them badly, they'll come back at you.
Why does war happen, to go back to your original question? Because the countries that say "They started it!" were probably the ones who did start it. If you don't want war, don't start one and don't *cause* one.

I understand that sometimes war is inevitable in some circumstances. But i still believe that war is just another representation of greed for power. We can use bloodless war,,,,,,,i.e. by writing, debate and prayer.... I think that we should be carefull and wise in choosing our government officials, we must try to elect individuals who are God-fearing and with conscience...

history shows the people can't live without war. all wars are religious wars (accept ww1, ww2).
we should stop playing world police, and stop supporting ALL country's in the middle east and the world (that would pay health insurance for all Americans, tell that to Hilliary), starting with Israel. let them fight it out themselves, don't waste our young life's

There will never be an end to war as long as human nature is what it is. When people stop wanting what belongs to someone else then, maybe, we can look for a way to avoid war.

It's like that episode of the X-files where Mulder wishes for world peace and the genie shows him a world without people.
War will exist as long as man exists. This cannot be changed.
