i think you have to face your fear head on until you are no longer afraid of it. I know it sounds torturious, but it will help you overcome that fear.

There are two types of fears: Rational and irrational.
Now, you can't cure a fear unless you overcome it, it's not something you wake up to.
Say you have arachnophobia (fear of spiders), which is a completely rational fear. It takes information and time and therapy if you really have a serious problem and want to overcome that fear. Say, you went through counseling and the psychologist gave you information on spiders on how they are actually for the good of the world and don't go crawling around biting people and poisoning them. After this information and therapy, you may be able to overcome this fear.
But, if you have a fear on something completely irrational, say... the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth, then it has no reason to be a fear because it is most of the time harmless and plain dull.
Anyway, you can't really CURE a phobia with a medicine or certain ritual or hypnotizing someone, hehe, sorry. You must overcome that fear.
Hope this helps...

There are multiple ways to go about curing a phobia. Usually your best bet, if you just can't seem to slowly adjust to the situation on your own, than see a psychologist. They can try therapy, or recommend that you see a doctor for medication. If it is really severe, you may need both medication and a lot of therapy, but for many, therapy alone works.

Sitting in a closed room, having fear of a crowd, i am running away from people, am i solving my problem? No i am not. why?
I believe i am my own fortune teller, as i have already believed that if i meet a crowd, something bad will happen. what i need to do is to believe i am wrong, i can't tell what is going to happen. if i was psychic i would have won the lottery and not be in this phobia.
I got to face my phobia, only way out is to touch it to believe it, for a crowd phobia i need to go out slowly and gradually, first meet one person and then two and then three aand so on, yes i will sweat, my heart will race, i will be very scared but only at the start, as soon as i realize oh these people will not eat me up, what was i thinking eh? i have got rid of my phobia.
Realize that you are wrong about the consequences of meeting your phobia, meet your phobia eye to eye and sort it out with yourself, you are your own counsellor. you are your own best friend, feel free to feel free.

In a psychology class I took in college we learned about "systematic desensitization". I would recommend looking it up and learning about it. It has been shown to be very effective at curing phobias and has a high cure rate

Hypnotherapy can work - but it can also trigger other memories. Iwent to a hypnotherapist because I wanted to remember a car number - what happened next surprised me - I felt a deep sadness roll up my legs from my toes to my head and I started crying, when the hypnotherapist asked me what was wrong - the first thing that came to my head was something that had happened in my family when I was very young, but boy, did it answer other questions in my life regarding my behaviour. So YES, hypnotherapy may help because it will find out what triggered your fear in the first place. Once you know the reason, it is much easier to work on.

it would be a good idea for you to see a psychiatrist so that youd be able to receive proper treatment. i know one treatment is DESENSITIZATION wherein small amount of doses of the stuff youve developed phobia would be given to you, until you develop your tolerance towards it. and as you build your tolerance towards that small amount of that scary stuff, the dose would be increased until finally, your phobia is 'gone'/'cured'. but it must only be performed by womeone whos licensed (?) or someone who' specializes on it.

You have to face the fear, or it'll never be resolved. The more you run from it, the more it will control your life. There are many therapies that help you face your fear (whether it's holding a spider, taking a fake plane ride, riding in elevators, etc). Once you face your fear, it should subside or cease.

You replace fear with knowledge. You stand naked before it ,look it all over, with love, you pass over it around it, under it and through it accepting reality just as it is.You dont try to change it in your own mind, you neither add or subtract you leave it alone.
The first step is to take the first step, he'll do the rest.

Yes, but it is hard. Either face it at once, or desensitize slowly. But professional help helps.
