Hi all,
I bought DELL Latitude D610 and IBM ThinkPad when i was in USA. Now since i had to temporarily move to India, i have some important issues to ask.

US used 60HZ and 110V power supply electricity whereas India uses 50HZ, 240V (as most of the european countries).
So, now, if i want to use my laptop adapter in India to charge my laptop, Can i do that? Did anybody try that? I don't want to connect to 240V power supply and later find that the system has been blown up... i cannot afford to do that...

Any advises (if you had experience) will be highly appreciated.

You have to use an adapter.

For Dell, you could try to call their Technical support or you could visit their URL. I'm sure your DELL Latitude has a service tag (white sticker with bar codes), whenever they ask for the service tag, just provide the info to them and they help you out.

AND, I know that there is a Tech Support from DELL in India and Philippines. I once worked with DELL before but for Desktop and Printers only. My knowledge about DELL Latitude is very limited.

It works fine. I had my laptop in Kenya from the US and with the power adapter and converter it worked fine for 3 months.

You need the adapter which gives you the right connector and you need an voltage converter because the voltage does not match.

Hey I am an Electrical Engineer and I recommend not to plug in your adapter as it will blow up ur Laptop. Now, the choice is yours. There are transformers available which can convert voltage. For furthur solution click link below:-
