'bizzy'...i agree that sometimes there is an aspect that is related to envy,but many times people tune in to the life of a celebrity as if its this famed movie that is worth watching.People are just people,regardless of how much money you make.

People are fascinated by celebrities because some see them as something aspirational. Especially with the deluge of reality shows where people are plucked from obscurity to become a 'world famous superstar. You often hear them speak about how they have 'escaped' their humdrum existences. The point is it is seen as a lifestyle where you are on easy street with loads of money and attention. The reality if for many it is 'another job' but made worse by the fact you can not just go home and have a life. There are always people trying to interfere with your most private moments, not only by taking the pictures, but publishing articles casting judgement on how you choose to live your life. People form opinions about celebrities purely based on what they have seen or heard about a celebrity. They don't know or even care to know the person! Therefore the short of it all is that many believe that by becoming a celebrity either by default of design you are no longer entitled to any kind of private life!

I am not fasinated by celebs at all! In fact I think most of them are more messed up than most of us normal people!
I don't watch much television because I think it's brainwashing. I think that people follow what they are constantly exposed to.
I have run into many a celebrity and they are always very surprised by how calm and cool I am. They are a little bruised I think that I am not impressed soley by their Celebrity!

I wouldn't call it fascination. More like ENVY. Celebrities just aren't normal to a lot of people like "us". Imagine if you made 17 million just for playing a basketball game, or 29 million just for ACTING in a movie, THEN there are people like "us" who make 9.50 an hour for wiping old peoples asses. People who take care of the sick can make 28.00 an hour! Its not that people are fascinated by celebs, Its just that OUR reality isn't their reality, and I think thats whats so "fascinating".

They are people just like everybody else and from what you see on the news are not deserving of worship. Celebrities are idolized because they represent what people think they would want to achieve, because of their fame or air brushed looks.

People are just fasicinated by what is going on in the lives of other people...we gossip about people all the time.
Then, add to it that they are beautiful. That just puts the intrigue over the top. We like to see beautiful people mess up.

I do not! They are just ppl too. In fact they can't stay out of trouble they are always getting divorced, drugs drinking that is nothing to be fascinated about. I have better things to do with my life than to waste it on stupid ppl.
