Can anyone give me any ideas on what I need to put in my speech?

I am not intrested in running for a Congress, this is just for a class project. Politics is not my thing and I don't know where to begin....just looking for ideas.

Pick an issue that you think is important and tell what you will do about it when you are elected. If you are giving this speech in front of your class or other audience try to find out what issue is important to them. You should be prepared to comment on several issues but focus mainly on one.

Is this for a school or college government project? Or a public speaking class assignment? If you actually wanted to run for a Congressional seat, you are about a year too late, or a year too early.

Why not just get copies of eight or ten speeches of WINNING candidates in the 2006 Congressional races in the political party of which you are a member ? Just write to any congress members you admire, and ask their staff for copies of some of their speeches on major policy issues of the last campaign?

Make a lot of promises, exaggerate you potential, and play-act as a loving, reliable and responsible person.

Forget about saying anything sensible since most listeners will be turned on by what appears to be a nice person who likes everyone and one who wants to do good to everyone.

If you can present that kind of a facade,...you're in like Flynn.

Sure, campaign for putting a muzzle on that dumb-*** mouth before he totally destroys our country. The heck of it is, his alternate is just as dangerous. What happened to "being more humble" as he said we should be before he was elected. It is excruciatingly horrible having to wait another two years for this to be over!

What's your topic? What's the purpose of the speech? Who's running? Be glad to help, but please be more specific.
