In the movie it comes to the realization that the girl is the last living descendent of Jesus Christ. And that she in fact is the Holy Grail. But naturally families marry into other families and more then one child is born and they give there genes to another family so there are thousands of descendants. This confused me did I misunderstand something or am I right. The only way that she could be the only descendant would be if the whole bloodline passed on there genes by inbreeding.
I'm not some crazy religious person pissed off about the Da Vinci Code haha. So please don’t make me out to be one I know alot of people try to debase this movie I have no idea since everyone knows its part fiction.

This conversation is really pointless as were debating the reality of a fictional book haha. But still very interesting to think about I like the site that talks about the Gnostic books. It's sad the amount of people that don’t know about the rejected books of the bible. For some reason billions of people just believe it as truth without thinking about where it came from. I used to be Christian when I was younger and I really just believed it because it was an object of authority. Perhaps that’s why the modified bible was accepted in the first place.

You are NOT incorrect. Families marry and direct descendents spread out. In the DaVinci Code, we are to believe that all but the girl and her grandmother have died or been killed.
This however leads to another question:
Even "if" thru DNA testing they could link the girl to Mary Magdalen, that still does not prove she is a decendent of Jesus Christ...just a descendent of Mary. Without DNA from Jesus, they can only prove her mother, not her father. Mary could have had children with anyone.
I am not a religious fanatic either but found the movie stirring some questions in it's message and in the church's message.
There are a couple of nice websites to read some of the passages referred to in the movie from the Book of Phillip and the Book of Mary. Check out: http://www.bibleufo.com/anomlostbooks.htm

LOL! I had the exact same reaction. IF the "child of Jesus" theory were true, there would have to be all kinds of descendents, so unless the Priory of Scion kept track of who was the #1 descendent, like tracing the bloodline of a king through his oldest son, there being one final descendent doesn't work for me at all.
There's a series of adventure books out right now called "The Madonna Key" that goes that direction--thousands of descendents-- *and* that has the secret of the divine feminine entrusted to *women* instead of men, for once :-)

If each decedent of Christ had only one child...or maybe two, every century or so, Then it would be a linear line rather than a tree.
Think about it, If your grandmother didn't have any siblings, your parents wouldn't have cousins or aunts and uncles. Then, you mother is an only child, now you don't have aunts or uncles, and so on.
If this WERE true, then they would need to have "only children". Remember, they were "off the book", and it's easier to have on child as a secret than two, or three, or...
Also, this would mean have a child outside of a hospital, in more recent years. I wouldn't want to do THAT more than once.
Now, this is all 'in theory', because the book IS considered a work of fiction.

i think they tried to base the answer to the "question" by letting the main character to be the "grail" really once you think of it everyone is a descendant of jesus. this would be true if we had evidence if there is a "god" so really the da vinci code is a fictional story based on many bits of the bibil and someone elses opinion joined together to formsomething we may all belive. personally i think there is no god.

The action picture leaves issues out and additionally alters a sturdy little bit of the e book yet did shop the main important topic of the e book. As widespread with video clips created from books, the e book is lots extra desirable yet I did savour the action picture.

Beaver, ;Your puzzlement IS perfectly valid.
How on Earth [could it make] one 'iota of difference'
IF a bunch of us WERE distantly related,
by blood to 'a Teacher' -from 2000 years back?
The Queen-of-Brittain, H.R.H. Elizabeth is related to Arabian Royalty,
thence, Mohomad -himself.. !
-through the Spanish Kings with a bloodline passing through
"upper-crust" dignitaries in 'Andalus' -in southern Spain.
Of course, Royalty [really know how] to extract [every piece]
of mythic-value, from any-&-ALL 'old stories' -justified by that myth
granting Queen Elizabeth immunity from Fanatic Islamic attack.
