There are several already, but I guess the answer depends on your idea of liberal. The most liberal major candidate that I'm aware of right now is Dennis Kucinich.

There may be, but they won't be a mainline canidate. The election in 2008 will be defined by the democratic effort to drive to the right of center to the group of voters who have slowly moved away from the ultra-moral right wing conservatives and towards more moderate canidates like John McCain. It's the same thing Clinton did in '92 and '96 forcing the Republicans to be more conservative than the majority middle.
Speaking of Clinton, it would be a big mistake for Hillary to be the Dem's canidate, she is easily attacked on too many fronts. The Dems need a fresh face to get progression back on track, especially in light of the problems in Iraq, Iran, and the overall international view.

It is unlikely. Democrats are trying to get voters that have traditionally been Republican that are fed up with the war. If a Democratic candidate is too liberal, many Republicans will look to moderate Republicans instead. The biggest thing going for the Democrats is the war, and they don't want to ruin this.

Anyone coming from the democratic party is going to be a liberal, and you can take that to the bank.

It depends on who you ask. I, as a Libertarian, believe that all of the Democrats and Republicans are liberals insofar as they believe in expanding the powers of government.
