practice practice practice and some pointers from a good coach or the local pro..everybowling center has one just ask...but mainly get a ball that is drilled for theat athe pro shop where you bowl at should be able to help if not some friends will point you in the right direction..but mainlky what i do is keep my fingers at the 10 o'oclock position (2occlock if your left handed) and keep your hand behind the ball when you release...also what i do i point my index finger at my mark on the lane,,usually around the second arrow...and if my ball moves to much i just move left and keep my mark the same(im right handed)..i also have a finger tip ball..what you can do ask the pro shop if they have a ball that is a reactive ball that they can drill for you...it is cheaper than spensing around $200-$300 for a brand new one...I also coach kids....and some adults but they have to ask for my help[

First you will need the proper ball fitted to your hand by someone that knows bowling. The house pro shop at the bowling alley if they have one. If not look in the yellow pages.
Next, you will start with your hand under the ball, then on your delivery you will rotate your hand counter clockwise (right handed) to a thumbs up position as you release the ball. Your hand should be in the position at the end as if you are about to shake hands with another person.
Last you will have to adjust where you stand and where you throw the ball on the lane to compensate for the hook. Take a couple lessons from a good bowler or the house pro. It will help you more than you think.
Last learn to use the arrows on the lane to aim at and adjust. Never look at the pins while bowling till after you have released the ball

To begin with, you would need to find a bowling ball that you feel comfortable. Preferably, for example, when you purchase one at your local bowling lanes. Once there, you should have the professional there to drill the holes at the particular angles which are conducive to having a hook. You should at all times keep your wrist straight, and not twist it in any way. When you toss the ball be sure that you give it some nice lift. Not way over the foul line, mind you, but I would say like around 4 feet over the foul line. Seeing how you are a novice player, you should advise the professional to have you to allow for only a modest hook, rather than a large one, and the reason for that is because what you are looking for is control, and in doing so, you will be able to obtain good consistent scores.

You need a good ball. The house ball dont curve. You need a certain way of throwing it that can't be explained, someone need to show you. Ask someone how to do next time you go bowling

when you are about to drop the ball (throw it or roll it) spin it with the other hand. you start on the right side (or left) and spin it the opposite direction of the way you are throwing it.... when u do this, the ball should turn... if you do too much or too little it will probally end up in the gutter.... you should practice to find ur perfect angle and curve...

if you are really serious then you should get your own ball and have the person teach you how to throw it. its very hard to hook a ball that is at the alley. when you release the ball have your thumb come out first then your fingers and have the ball turned to the side this should hook the ball

if your right handed and have basicly anything but a plasic ball, stand at the 2nd arrow on the right, when your holding it your thumb should be at 10:00 swing your arm straight and right before you let go spin the ball with your fingers not your wrist
hope i helped have fun, if you really get into it go to a proshop and ask for finger tip grips they make curving much easier
