I have been studying about this very thing. Try it out on yourself for a while. keep a dream journal write down your dreams in full detail in the morning. Then write your thoughts about it, what books and websites say about it, and then write your own interpretation. This has helped me a lot and I've gotten rather good at it. The only problem is I get bored because after a while I realized that all my dreams at one point meant the same thing. Good luck!
P.S. I like this website a lot Dreammoods.com

There are a lot of books that help you interpret your dreams you can just look up on the internet. Usually your dreams are related to things that are going on in your life.

Well honestly I think the best answer to that is this .... every dream has a specific meaning to you in your subconscious mind.
Try writing down the dreams you have and go over each detail on how that made you feel and write a feeling with each detail you have . You would be surprised on what you will come up with.
