It all depends on a lot of factors to if the baby is going to be accepted. First, the baby has to feel accepted within its own family. If the baby feels degraded or has low self estem in the family it has no chance of making out in the world. Second, The baby might have a chance because the baby will come out light. In different cultures people still believe that lighter people is better. It is so sad in this day and age, but this might backfire in the black community. In the black community they might ridicule the baby for being half white and being able to "pass." The best way for this baby to be accepted in the world is to be accepted by its family first. I hope the child never hears these "jokes." The baby can not help who his/her parents are.

My guess is the family will be fine with the child once it's born - it may even help them get over their prejudices. In most of the country, I think a mixed race child will be treated the same as every other child. I think every generation is growing more and more tolerant of differences. If the family continues to comment after the baby is born or refuse to accept the father, I think your sister-in-law would be well with in her rights to tell her family to take a hike.

Congratulate your sister-in-law for me, I hope her baby is healthy and happy.

I also hope that confused people like yourself can see the baby for what it is, a fine human being to be loved, and ignore the tired subject of skin color.

It just doesn't matter. It never did. Get over it.

Try holding this baby when it comes, and play with it a little. You will find that you love it. It will love you, too. They all do.

Depends on the guy she got pregnant by. If he is a good guy in time the mom will probably be fine. Who cares about the friends. Not really friends if they don't accept her child. Why don't one of you white people actually knock your friends out who make these jokes. It will save them from evenyually being knocked out by someone like me. It will also keep people from thinking your racist. This kinda crap makes me sick.

i think of the excellent thought of *I had the 1st female or boy grandchild* is ridiculous. Why permit it hassle you? based on your info, i could experience pity for her having a majority of those toddlers via all distinctive fathers. So what if it extremely is the 1st female? If it somewhat bothers you, next time she rubs it in, tell her "Congratulations, you have earned a cookie" and walk away. it is not properly worth expending any emotions over it. permit it circulate.

Our first acceptance comes from our parents and then other family, loved ones, and friends.

Grandparents tend to change once they see that grandchild.
