Hi, I don't know anything about grade point average ... How do you calculate it?
For my grade 9 and 10 of high school, my average overall was about 85%, and this year it's 90%. What is my GPA?

The courses I took were all university preparation courses.

GPA is normally determined using a point scale for each grade you get at the completion of a semester.
A: 4 points
B: 3 points
C: 2 points
D: 1 point
F: 0 points

Take your grades on a semester report card, and assign these numbers to those grades. Add the points together, and divide by total number of credits earned.

Example: You get grades of A, C, B, B, A, D. in 6 full credit classes. This means that you get 4 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 1 points for a total of 17 points. Divide 17 points by 6 hours to get a GPA of about 2.8.

An A average, or getting straight A's is a 4.0 GPA, straight B's is a 3.0, straight C's is a 2.0, and straight D's is a 1.0.

This is a pretty standard GPA system for most of the united states.

I may be wrong but I think with GPA an "A" corresponds to 4.0, "B" is 3.0, "C" is 2.0, etc.

So then for each year seperately, you should compile your letter grades. For example, then you take the 9th grade year grades. Say they are A, A, B, B, B

Then it would be 1/5*(4+4+3+3+3) = 3.4 GPA for 9th grade

So then you find the GPA for each of the 3 years and average them together.

I think that's how it work, but I may be wrong, though this is probably a good estimate.

your average right now is an 86%, which equates to a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. if you maintain your 90% average for the rest of the year, your gpa will be a 3.2.

I would be a 3.0 for your first two years and a 3.7 for this year. Since this year is only half over it should be a 3.14.

Good Luck!!!

It depends on what kind of level the courses that you took were, e.g. college prep, honors, advanced placement, etc.
