The whole "state" of hip-hop has changed. It's completely trash now. Everyone talks about the same old stuff (money, hoes, killings, drug sales,my clique is a million deep...repeat,Blah,blah,blah) These Rappers "beefing" with each other like the one with the most "drama" wins a gift basket.I remember when M.C.'s you to get on the mic and talk about how raw they are lyrically and how they kick-it and have a good time.Nowadays it's Menace ll Society,Boyz in the hood,Juice, and Scarface rolled all into one with these cats 24-7. Is Hip-Hop dead? "We went from Brothers and Sisters to Ni@@az and Bi++ches..." >AB#1< Nooope!,it's in my back pocket suckas.

Hip Hop is alive as it ever was, you just won't find it in the mainstream. If your only sources for hip hop music are TV and the radio, then I can see why you might think it's dead, but I think you're sadly mistaken. There is a vibrant and very much alive hip hop underground just waiting for you to scratch the surface.

It is? Wow. That's terrific. Hip Hop and Rap actually made me LIKE DISCO! Can you believe that?!

I may have to fire up the Threshold and Thiels and blast some Jerry Lee Lewis in celebration, or maybe some Led Zep!

this is because there aren't quality rappers out there.. They just busy rapping nonsense and rubbish..

Without Dr.Dre, Eminem and those good rappers out there... Hip Hop would have been dead a long time...

Rappers.. it's time to write something good :)

I agree. The underground is still alive and as good as it has been since the beginning. Mainstream Rap is dying because it became too corporate, too commerical, too materialistic, too arrogant, disrespecting women, gay men and one another, rappung about rubblish. On both sides, people became too greedy. That is not what Rap is about.

Because, as has been said, it sucks big time...it has no chance to go any further artistically than it already has. A dead end style of music destined for the garbage heap where it belongs.

Hip-hop isn't dead. Nas' career as an artist is.

Check the underground, it's only the mainstream that's "dead"
