I keep having similar dreams. In the dreams I am drowning in deep water and i can never see the bottom. Because of the dreams I have a phobia of deep water. I'm confused because I don't understand why I keep having these dreams that I have been having for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was little. My mom says that I have never drowned. Could this mean that I drowned in a past life???

ok. so i have received may answers with bible scriptures. don't get me wrong, i believe in God, not realizing that my religious beliefs would be an issue here. I just find it odd that i keep having the same dreams for so many years. I started having the dream at about 7 years old, long before i knew what stress is. so please no more scriptures because i'm not atheist, lol. thanks.

Hey there: I just answered a different Dream Question...and saw yours listed at the bottom as OPEN.

Check out what this Website says about Recurring Dreams.

My recurring dream that I had when I was younger was so annoying!

I would be in an Alley (like in a Big City) and the street would be empty. I'd toss a Red Ball (always a Red Ball) over to the other side, go get it, toss it to the other side, go get it, toss it,....over and over...all night long! I was so Anxiety Ridden by the repetition of the Red Ball Tossing (and annoyed) I'd wake myself up!

I hope the site helps....

I know a lot of people would say that, but I don't believe in past lives. I do however believe in what happened to ancestors can be carried down genetically. Usually when you dream of water in a dream it is symbolic for your emotional state. Maybe you feel as if you are drowning emotionally in your waking life. If you would like to look into it more try Dreammoods.com It's my favorite site for dreams. Good luck!

P.s. I can understand why people do believe in past lives though because I am the spitting image of my great grandmother and looking in those pictures it is freaky because it is like I know what she was thinking.

No. Dreaming is merely the term given to the natural method that our subconscious mind needs to use to sort out thoughts, anxieties, and things that the mind is overwhelmed with during the day, in order to keep functioning and processing efficiently. I agree, it is strange because dreams are vivid and you remember dreams sometimes, but they are nothing more than you witnessing your mind at rest while it's sorting out subsconscious things that it needs to sort out within itself.
P.S. As for past lives, the Bible says, "It is appointed once for a man to die; and after that, the judgment." (Hebrews 9:27). (so there are no past lives).
(P.P.S. As for the "judgment", if you are in right standing with Christ (a Christian), you are in right standing with God and need not fear it (because you're covered with Christ :) ). God bless you .

Well, it can be...and it can also mean you're very emotional and see your self "drowning" in uncontrollable emotions or events.
