In general, (n-2)*180deg

So for a heptagon, 5*180deg = 900deg.

Quoted :

"(7-2)(180) = 900 degrees because the polygon can be cut into 5 triangles"

Sorry, have to correct this one :
* The polygon with 7 sides (called heptagon) can be divided into 7 triangles
* The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is always 180 (could be proven by corner theory)
* Therefore 7 triangles = 7 * 180 degree but don't forget that the 7 corner of these 7 triangles in the center of the heptagon will contribute a 360 degree that IS NOT counted toward the sum of interior angles of the original heptagon.
* Therefore the actual sum is : 7*180 - 360 or (7-2)*180 degree
* This holds true for all closed, no self intersecting polygon. The general equation is (N - 2) * 180

I hope this helps

The sum of the interior angles of a Regular polygon is given by the formula=2(n-2)*90 (where n is the no. of sides). Here n=7, so the sum is 900. Think rationally, a polygon with 4 sides can be cut into 2 triangles, one with 5 sides can be cut into 3 triangles, one with 6 sides can be cut into 4 triangles, one with 7 sides can be cut into 5 triangles. So the measure of the interior angles of 5 triangles is 900 degrees.

The sum of interior angles of apolygon is given by the simple formula(2n-4)right angles,where n is the number of sides of the polygon
Therefore a heptagonal will have(14-4)X90 or 900 degrees as the sum of its interior angles.
Please note that the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon is always 360 degrees irrespective of its number of sides.

like 900 degrees? there are 360 degrees in the outer angles for all polygons. divide 360 by 7. subtract that from 180 and multiply by 7 for the number of sides...900
