First of all find a friend who is decent at skateboarding. If you don't work with a real, HUMAN person you will get nowhere. I tried watching Tony Hawk's Tips and Tricks and it did nothing for me.
Secondly, you need a deck from a real skateshop. If you are skating something cheap from anywhere else, you will not get the spring necessary for a good ollie.
Thirdly, skate shoes help a lot. DCs, Etnies, Vans, whatever, they all give you better grip and allow you to have better control of your board.
Now the actual stuff:
a)plant feet parallel, one foot in middle of board, one foot on edge of tail.
b)make certain you are centered correctly
c)crouch down low to the ground and bend your knees greatly
d)spring up with your knees and gently roll the foot in the middle of the board to the left and keep the foot at the very left in place on the edge of the tail
e)remember the more elasticity you create with the pressure you exert on the board, the higher you will ollie
f)practice, practice, practice. I am not particularly coordinated but with about two hours a day practicing for about a month I learned the ollie. When you practice you need to remember to at least approximate the position and not do it completely wrong or awkward. Do not give up. Skateboarding becomes much more fun after you learn this.
g) don't be stupid and go out without a helmet and all your pads. You will fall on the pavement learning this and that is one of the painful inevitablities of skateboarding. Tony Hawk, the Master of skateboarding wears a helmet so you, amateur should too(as should all skateboarders). And if you cut up one of your knees, doing the ollie "pop" will be painful and you will not want to try it for a week because the aggravation will be so bad.
h)find a group of skateboarder punks(JK) to skate with. They will teach you a thing or two.
i)remember your doing this for fun and go out and have a good time.

this is from my experience of ollying, basically i cover the 2 back bolts of where your front foot goes, then the back at the tail, simply push down on the tail lifting your right foot on the bolts to sort of bring it up, its kinda hard to explain, basically stick with the ollie at all times, dont leave or bail on the ollie, thats why some people land chicken footed, i suggest going on youtube b/c thats where it helped me the most, im landing ollies like nothing now, try while rolling to, you can get used to that alot

Push hard with your back foot so that the tail smacks the ground. Then slide your front foot up, make sure you maintain contact all throughout the sliding until you front foot reaches the nose of the board (do not allow the front foot to pass the nose, otherwise you would be trying a different trick). After your front foot is fnished sliding up, you back foot should come up, allowing the tail to rise up and level out with the nose. Once leveled, you wait for gravity to bring you band down and land.

hi hello, I examine this on an internet site. To ollie, position your decrease back foot so as that the ball of your foot is on the tail of your skateboard. position your the front foot between the middle and the front autos of your skateboard. That’s the position you want your ft to be correct earlier ollying. in case you locate that it really works extra effective that you should have your ft shifted to different places on your skateboard, that’s advantageous. you may come across information on a thanks to ollie at the same time as status table certain, or at the same time as your skateboard is rolling. Ollying at the same time as status nonetheless works an same way as at the same time as rolling, yet i imagine rolling ollies are extra reachable than table certain ollies. in case you would possibly want to wish to come across information on a thanks to ollie consisting of your skateboard table certain, you may position your skateboard on some carpet or grass to keep it from rolling. in case you pick to come across information on a thanks to ollie at the same time as your skateboard is rolling, don’t bypass very quick on the starting up. Whichever way you locate information on a thanks to ollie, once you experience delicate you should attempt to ollie any incorrect way as well. once you're waiting to ollie, bend your knees deeply. The extra you bend your knees, the better you'll bypass. Slam your decrease back foot down on the tail of your skateboard as demanding as you may. At that second, you want to also leap into the air, off of your decrease back foot. As you leap into the air, your the front foot needs to roll somewhat inward, and with the exterior of your foot as quickly because that's executed aspect out, land and roll away. Its strong to imagine your self landing this trick because it facilitates no longer in user-friendly words your confiddence yet your expertise on a thanks to land this trick, this gadget works for any trick in skateboarding, strong success with gaining knowledge of your trick
