I just moved to Tampa, and I really enjoy camping. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good campsites in Tampa. Especially those that are REAL camping, and have fire pits on the site. Money really isn't a problem.
Just looking for some good places.
Thanks a ton!!!

I always use this site to plan a camping trip. Also, island camping is a blast.

Hillsborough River State Park on US 301, about 15 miles north of Tampa. Costs $6.00 to get in. Not sure of the price for a camp spot. Do know they have canoe rentals and a launch on the Hillsborough River with a very peaceful ride down.
Might want to look at the Hidden River Park in the Withalacochee (not sure of spelling) Forest. It is also on 301, just above Ridge Manor. You cross over ST Route 50, going north. You camp on the Withalcochee River, which very few know about.
