Citizens called to fight for their country must be brave to accept the responsibility because it is their only chance to serve the country.

Mexico ... what a pit. Actually, I was thinking of joining the National Guard and taking a quick tour of Iran. I'm a laid off teacher .. if I didn't still have a couple kids in High School I would enlist (I'm prior service, so the age limit does not apply to me for a couple years). The military can be a great career. Don't get me wrong, the US is fading ... too many people think as you and will not defend, nor vote people into office that will defend our country. I would be doing it for the adventure for the most part. Death in war just means not having to worry about getting old and infirm.

No because Mexico just had a start of a revolution two weeks ago, so that is a big no. And we will win anyway so why leave my land, to give it to the illegals? What is this musical chairs? Military doesn't want cowards anyway, so I would definately go and ready able and willing to take out the objective as ordered like before?

Nah, if you have 500k plus anything is possilbe in Mexico. La Mordida is something the Americans would need to get used too, but Uncle Sam knows from Tradition that Mexico want no interferance in its internal affiars. Go to Canada probadly be caught, but legal means to stay would be unfavorable with Harper in power if deserting. Mexico, is only a good to stay, or Costa Rica. Argentina a place where Uncle Sam wont waste time trying to get ya to serve.

Running to Mexico is far worse than going to war. Nothing that I can think of for the moment is worse than living in Mexico.

I spent over 20 years in the Navy, 12 months in Viet Nam. I didn't run away then, and if I were called today, I'd go. If I DID run away, MEXICO would be the LAST place. I think I'd go to Sardinia. Or even Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

i would not look forward to leaving loved ones but because I love them and want to seem them alive and well and not become casualties by an evil part of the human race known as muslims or some other bloodthirsty sect whenever they chose to come to US and strike in some cowardly manner, I would go and protect my loved ones by crushing the enemy BEFORE they came and tried anything! PREVENTION is the best defense!
So no I aint gonna be a pansy boy or a selfish coward and run
Im going to suit up and protect my loved ones and my country from evil by stopping it where it grows!

MEXICO? No way. I'd either go to Canada or Western Europe.
I might get caught in Canada, but if I go to Western Europe, I'm home free from Bush's oil wars.
And Fraginal, going to war isn't the only way to serve your nation.

no, if I were called, I would rise up, but not for the States, I would rise against them, not with violence however, I am against war, always have been, always will be. Our country was founded by people rising up in protest. So, as a citizen of the United States of America, I would defend my rights, not by fighting, but demanding that we not be in the war, for we should show our power through means other than war. Only We the People can show the world how great it is to live in peace, and if others are smart enough, they will see that there is no need for war

I wouldn't run like a coward; I would fight. But I would be scared out of my mind as well... I have a really pathetic pain tolerance... But hey, some military time would probably do me some good then. While I hope it never comes to that, I would definetly not run.

I'd go. I'm not going to bail out and run to Mexico like some Mexican jumping the border to come here in the US.
