I believe the first two Super Bowls were called the AFL-NFL World Championship, and by the third championship they had changed the name to the Super Bowl.
But the Super Bowl has been played every year since Super Bowl I, even in '82 when there was a players strike and only 9 regular season games were played.

The first Super Bowl was January 15, 1967. It's been played every year since then.

The Packers won the last N.F.L. Championship( 1965) before the Super Bowl was first played in 1966 ,not the Cleveland Browns. That makes 1 N.F.L. Championship, and 2 Super Bowls, making the Packers champs 3 years in a row.

I think you are getting confused because the super bowl for one year is held in the next year. This is generally considered the '06 season even though the superbowl is being held in '07. That would account for your mystery year.
