I am writing a book for my granddaughter, I am satisfied with who I am, I am far from rich, but have no complaints, I have good friends, I had a family, I party and have a good time, I relax at the beach and enjoy the waves as they crash to shore and get lost in their immensity, I relish a beautiful sunset or a fantastic painting in the sky from God, I smell the fresh cut grass, and watch my cats play and have fun, I live for no regrets, and presently have few, when it is all over I intend to say it was a hell of a ride.

I hate my job but it pays the mortgage & will have to do until I win the lottery. In my free time I do the things that I love (being creative: painting pictures, writing songs, singing, playing guitar, taking pictures, etc). It would be nice to make a liviing doing the things I love but I'm too practical to be a starving artist.

Do what you love. If you can't do it for a living then just do it for your life. All the money in the world won't matter if you're forsaking your dreams. My job pays fairly well but is the death of creativity. If I didn't still have my dreams on the side and have enough beauty on my days off to counteract the ugliness I encounter at work, I don't know how I'd cope.

A loaded question for sure and my last for the night.
What I wanted to be when I was growing up was a Teacher but then society changed.
Then I wanted to be a wife, homemaker and mother with my own daycare center but I got too old and married late.
Then I discovered that I loved working with numbers and decided to become an accountant, but then found out that it was a hard career to get into unless you already worked in the field or knew someone who was willing to start you off from the bottom. I knew no one so I changed my career path and entered nursing. I'm not a nurse yet but I'm working on it. So why am I here?
Because God put me on this earth to help others in their time of need. And maybe someday someone will help me when I am in need.

I think it's safe to say that the desires of a person know no bounds. Even though someone has achieved something they really want, it isn't long before there is something else that is in their interest that they will hope to achieve. I'll use your example for an example of my own.

Should someone manage to make an income of $500,000 per year, that may do them well, but that person may hope to increase this income however that person can. I don't deny that there are several that hope to further the cause of the world around them, but humble people can be hard to find. There is still that desire for self-gain in most people.

My dream job is to work for the Peace Corps in Africa either teaching or helping to build infrastructures to bring water (and therefore food) to drought and famine struct villages and families.

My second choice would be to have an endless supply of money and to travel the world giving it away anonymously to people that could and would use it to better their situation.

No !

Life is very complicated and we don't know what's going on in other peoples minds all the time, but keep writing and telling stories. I like that.
