that there are so many people on this site, and the internet in general, that can't spell or use correct grammar?

Ok...so you say it's to use shorthand, but some of the shorthand you're using is just as long as the actual word. Wouldn't it be just as easy to use the actual word? This is why society is getting dumber. I'm amazed by how many people don't even know how to speak and spell our own language in this country.

Because:
1. They do not know the basic grammatical rules of the English language; or
2. They have never grasped what was taught to them at school; or
3. They are careless when it comes to writing and don't bother about how they write.
In doing so, they do not even realize that they are being disrespectful to those who read their writings..

They like to use for shortcut words for online/ or chat use. I do that all times.
