Somewhere in our brains is everything we have ever done or ever learned. It's not that we forget some things, it's that we forget the pathways to that memory. Once the pathway is found we remember again. Like when a certain smell makes you remember something.

sometimes be choose to remember what is significant to us...things that hurt...we block or atleast i do...as time passes by i alot of my painful emotions go back into my subconscious and resurfaces when things trigger the memory...ie similar name, similar environment...deja vu experience...when studying...some just have a better retrieval ability then others...who may need cues like mnemonics..

We probably have a defense mechanism in our brain that prevents us from remembering everything.

Although, it is said that the subconscious has it all and just keeps it suppressed. We just can't access it.
