I am just wondering about csi Miami. Do they use real actors for the dead people?

Everything looks so real, I am wondering how they do that.

Yes. As a pro makeup artist, I know of several people who endure the fun of lying there with tons of effect make up on...
Sometimes they use silicone bodies....especially if being cut up, etc.... Its hard but rewarding work!

I saw a show recently where they were talking about this. Yes, they are all live, plus they have a very long list of people who want to play a cadaver on the show. The morgue shots are easy, it's when the corpse has to lie in a weed patch or other "crime scene for hours on end, now that takes patience. I'd volunteer too if Ms. Alexander would work on me. (The medical examiner on the show.) I'd be happy to be a STIFF for her. A bit of useless info. They film the majority of that show in Long Beach Ca. They will go to Miami only 3-4 times a year.

Real actors playing dead people. The ethical issues, not to mention the ongoing decomposition, of using actual corpses, prevents tv/movie production companies from doing so.

If you look at the eyes of the "dead" people, you'll see that the eyes have a wet shine (living person) to them. Plus the pupils are not clouded over (unless the special FX department puts milky/cloudy contact lenses on the "dead" actor.)

I read in one magazine the other day, and they have a special article on CSI. Apprently, they do use real actors fr the dead people.

Yes they do, unless the dead body requires a decapitation or anything else that's extreme.

I read somewhere that they do. Can you imagine lying there and not getting cold or laughing.

Sometimes they do, it depends on how feasible it is to do the makeup.
