Why would a woman want to live with a man without the committment of marriage? Why not just date him and be able to be free to go back to your own apartment/condo when you would like to? Why would they want to live with a guy who isn't sure you are the one and is not marrying them because something "better" might come along? Why is there a increase in the divorce rate for couples who lived together before getting married?

I loved it when I owned my own condo before marriage. No worries, did what I pleased, didn;t have to answer to anyone. Why would I want to live with a man unless I was married? It just doesn't make sense...

Women are so desperate to hold on to a man that they'll accept the position of 'live-in whore' in the hopes that the guy will stick around.
I think the increased divorce rate for shack-ups is because the deep heart-and-soul committment isn't there from the beginning. They start out knowing they can leave whenever they feel like it, and that mindset doesn't seem to alter much after they do finally get married.

Why would a man want to lie with a woman without the committment of marriage? Why would a man want to live with a woman who isn't sure the man was the one and not marrying him beause something better might come along. See, it goes both ways...generalized blanket statements don't work when you're talking specifics. Everyone is an individual and they all have their own reasons for doing the things that they do whether YOU understand them or not.

You sure have a very narrow minded opinion huh?
Personally, I wouldn't want to live with someone unless I know for sure that I am in love with him and I want to be in committed relationship with him. I do think it's a good way to get to know someone ... I am a firm believer that you don't know the person until you're really living under the same roof. The first year of marriage, which is the hardest part I heard, then will not be used to get used to each other habit (and possibily be nasty to each other habits). Instead, the couple can enjoy just being a hubby and a wife and not get into each other nerve. Plus, it's a good way to save money ... if you're spending almost every night together anyway, why not just pay one rent?

Live-in-Whore?? Thats a trip. Most people choose to live together for a while either because they aren't wrapped up in the hype of marriage but are still committed to the relationship or they are living together to make sure what they are doing is right. They say you never truely know someone until you live with them. I have a cousin who lived with her now husband for 5 years before getting married .... I respect her for not rushing into what everyone thought should happen until they were ready and wanting to take the marriage leap.

my husband and i lived together before we got married.we have been married for 14 yrs now. the reason why there is a increase in the divorce rate is because people aren't taking the vows they made to each other very seriously and some of them think that they don't have to.

i believe that the reason that people are living together now is
because they feel that they dont have to committed to marriage
and it easy to live together it comfortable zone. etc. it just
easy to do for years with out much fuzz. and now days the general 80 percent want to live together rather then marry.,

God...........get a grip.....its just a temporary thing till they decide what they really want. Infact at the moment in time...they have no idea....so they just go along with the flow.
