When you hear that a contest is "open to legal Americans" they don't mean to say "only white people." You see, there are people who are in this country LEGALLY but aren't citizens. These people might hear about a contest but are not eligible for legal reasons. Indians (I'm assuming you mean Native Americans) have been United States citizens for many decades now.

I'm sure in China and Japan they have contests that are only for residents of those countries. It's not a race thing, it's a legal issue. Did you know that some contests aren't allowed in certain States? It's true. I've seen some contests that say "not vaild in Alaska and Vermont" or whatever. That's because the States make laws (to protect their citizens) from certain types of scams and frauds. These contests may not be scams or frauds, but they may have quailties that make some States uncomfortable (like you have to submit too much personal information, or you have to buy a large amount of a certain product to enter).

Speaking of buying product to enter...everytime you watch or read an advertisment for a contest and it says "no purchase necessary" they really mean it!!! Usually they provide you with an address that you can write to and they'll send you a game piece/form to fill out. I'm skeptical about your odds of winning (surely the winners would be actual paying customers or whatever, right?).

So, don't feel so excluded. You're not being excluded for any racist reasons (and you're not exclded at all if you're a citizen).

I don't think it is American to make a contest relative to ones ethical background. That would be racist.
