How can you use the Wii classic remote to play gamecube games? Is it possible?

I tried connecting it with the wireless remote and play a Mario game, and when it said "press start" i pressed both remotes but nothing happened. Do I need GameCube remote to play GameCube games?

Yes, sadly you still need a gamecube controler to play gamecube games.

No way! They're aren't enough buttons on the Wii remote.

on the wii, yes i think. you can only use the classic controller to play games downloaded over the internet connection powered by opera called the virtual console
