I say the game is not over until the fat lady sings. I noticed this alot, when a losing player is down, they usually don't fight for every points that could of been theirs. They simply just let it go by with out a chase.

If you are facing a 'dangerous floatie' like Serena Williams and she is banging and smashing everything, and just mauling you, you can't do anything but urgently want to get off the court and hide yourself in a rat-hole.

I don't think this is true. Most players fight when theyre down. The most recent game i can think of is kim clijsters vs martina hingis. If you didn't see this Kim won the first 3 games (i think) and then lost the set. She fought to win the game and advance to the next round.
When players do lose i think its usually got something to do with their confidence and whats going on in their head. Its hard to get back in the "zone" when your down a set and the stress starts to get to you. Not alot of tennis players can get back into the right frame of mind and focus 100% on their game.

I would not agree with this...most players fight to the end, sometimes they may have no effect by continuing to fight because the other player may just be too good on the given day.

Yes, I notice that too. I think they just don't have the "Never say die" attitude that is so apparent in players like the Williams sisters and Roger Federer. Federer could have lost a lot of matches if not for his never say die attitude.

i dont agree with u.serena, nadal, federer, nalbandian have all been 2 or 3 match points down but they fight, recover and win the match.some players do lose hope but maybe determination and fighting till the end comes with experience.
