Well, I guess that is going to be the big question in 2008, at least in the Democratic primaries.Isn't it?
Also, the question for the Democratic voters is which they would prefer first: a female Democratic nominee for President, or an African-American nominee for President? They have to choose one or the other, or one of the dozen other Democratic male candidates They can't just vote for one or the other of Hillary or Obama, and hope that the candidate will chose the other as their running mate. Since neither one likes the other one, and they will just have spent a year calling their opponent "unqualified", I doubt whether either would choose the other.

Not only are we ready, we are long overdue. Even Pakistan, an islamic country, has had a woman head of state.
Regarding color, I would like to think that we have reached the point as a people where we don't even notice the color of a person's when deciding who to vote for. We should simply vote for the person who's stand on what is important to us matches ours.

I truly believe that the voters who count themselves of the content of the constituent body of this country are able to look past the issue of "woman, or color'.
How the hell shallow do you think we are?
I, ( along with anyone else I hope to associate with,) firmly believe that the vote we endorse is endorsed on the value of the candidate's beliefs.
Now lets consider the fact that anyone can tell us what ever they want us to believe.
It is just a sad state of affairs when it all comes down to "Gee, I hope they really mean what they say, 'cuz that's what I'm voting on",
This is the saddest forum contained in the democratic voting system.

I think its wrong to place or elect someone in those positions based on gender or color. Unfortunately thats how it is, too many time Ive heard women say they will vote for Hillary JUST because its about time to have a woman in the white house even they dont really know her stance on issues(who does)?
The most qualified should be elected.

A woman president is not bad for the US if she is sincere in serving the country and be a good leader.

Why not? If we have a president who sends most of our men and women over for war to be killed and taxes boosted up high. Why wouldn't we be ready for that? I believe in changes and changes are good in this case changes are excellent. I say Hooray for the women and African Americans for president!!!!!!!!!

Anything is better then Bush. A women would have more of a family oriented view. Better health care, educational funding. If you view color people as different then thats wrong.

white americans control the votes, they are NOT ready for a president of color or a female presiddent. If they were, the question wouldn't be so frequently tossed about.
