When I dream of having an argument with someone and it ends up being a fight, I can't quite follow through with my punches. It's almost exactly like trying to throw fast punches under water, it's difficult and you feel like you're going in slow motion. The person getting punched is not getting hurt and I feel so drained and exhausted. I used to always have dreams of driving in a car and when coming to a stop light, the brakes would never work. Now the recurring one is not being able to punch. Anyone ever had dreams like this or know what it means?

I get the same effect in my dreams, really frustrating. I always wondered why too but I usually forget most of dreams, and I never thought to ask about it.
Maybe if you got a punching bag to work out on, it would reinforce your sub-conscious ability to realize that you can punch with power. Plus its a great exercise and stress reliever. Might work with your dreams, might not, but will definitely help your life somehow..

i have had dreams like this about the not being able to punch and the car thing. well the car thing... if the brakes dont work that means that you are not in control of something maybe at home or school, ect but you need to gain control of the situation k that just might help. and the punching thing its like Violent resolution. Release of energy. Building or releasing conflicts. but if you cant punch then its probably something you just need to get off your shoulders hope this helped.

When you dream, your voluntary muscles are inhibited, or you might injure yourself. The mechanism for doing this apparently affects your dream self as well. I used to experience the same thing, until I came to the realisation that it was just one part of me struggling to overcome another. In the hypnogogic state, between dreams and wakefulness, when that inhibition is removed, but the memory of the dream is still fresh, I once punched through two layers of plywood in my trailer, decades ago and far away, before moving into my unit, where I would break a wrist or fist, now.

I can punch and it doesn't effect the person i'm punching. But have you ever tried to look around somewhere and it was just so hard for you to turn and look. Damn dreams! They take all the money that I have and always leave me broken up.

We dream in symbols. A dream like that could mean you are feeling helpless or defenseless in some area of your life.

I have, a few times. Creepy! But it's common; look it up online, you'll find different interpretations.
