I am 15 years old and I want to open a bank account but is there an age requirement? And if I can open one will i be able to take money out of it? Im thinking of going to Wells Fargo for the account (if that helps).

I believe you can open a savings account but not a checking account until you are 18.

My parents opened a savings account for me when I was 6 or 7. In 8th grade I opened a checking account.. It was called a student account... so it was free, except for the cost of checks. So yes you can open an account.
And I live in Kansas, so wherever others get there info that you must be a certain age in US, is inaccurate.

you will not be able to open an account. you can open a minor's account, but only the parent/guardian will be able to operate the account till u turn 16/18. they will get a bank-card, not u and only they can make withdrawals or transactions at the teller

I believe you can, as long as you have $$ to deposit.
They may start you off with a savings & debit card tho.
Wells Fargo knows the real answer however, ask them.

you have to be 16 to open your own bank account in the US, but your parents can opena joined account with you, and you can take out and put in as you please. if a parent opens a custodial account though you need their signature to withdrawl.
