For everyone who saw this movie and are dissapointed because there were little or no depictions of happiness, you do not live in the real world. The Pursuit of Happyness was just that a movie on one mans pursuit of happiness. Yes it was long. Yes it was depressing. Yes it was painful to watch. But that was the point! Will Smiths acting portrayed perfectly the sadness, determination, and strength that his character had. It wasnt a movie about daisies, rainbows, and sunshine. It was about pain, struggle, the eventual joy that comes with acheiving a seemingly unnattainable goal. Mr. Hartl, you and a lot of the other reviewers on this site, missed most of this movies point, missed the characters names, and have an overall skewed view of what the movie was supposed to be.
it is based on the true story of Christopher Gardner, a family man struggling to make ends meet, the film takes some liberties with Gardner's actual story. Starring Will Smith as Chris Gardner and Smith's real-life son Jaden Christopher Syre Smith as Gardner's son Christopher, The Pursuit of Happyness follows Gardner's struggles to break into the stock brokerage business as an intern, despite a rocky financial situation,
so like i said,
i loved it.

I don't know...growing up in Chicago, it kind of gives me a different view of my life. I did think that the movie could have been better (more detailed)...especially the ending. I wished they would have showed more of what has happened afterward. The time machine guy was pretty funny lol.

Who wouldn't be? The man didn't want to become rich. He just wanted an honest job where he could take care of his child. What's not to love.
