Weatherwise, one of the best places to be (other than home) is the Pacific Northwest, like Seattle, at least in the winter. It's a great place to escape from the cold, without getting too hot or having a lot of sun in your eyes or beating down on you. In the summer though, you'll need to go somewhere else to avoid the sun.
