God is already a part of government, so why waste time putting religious values of god in government. Governments actually replaced religious authority over ruling lands of the people, so in many ways this was gods will. Religion actually creates gods, but the real god that is already every were and can not be taken out of anything. Man has never had control of god, and never will.

NO, is my answer to you.

g,
I've found your questions and answers to be intelligent and mature. I answered the Fox news question and as i was reading the other answers i noticed that yours was the most factual. Your answers aren't blind and self righous like many others here. I may not agree with all your answers, but I still really respect the way you conduct yourself in this community. I wish everyone was so civil here.
I'll see you around the boards.

That said, here's my answer to this question:
My guess is that the majority of people are so sensitive to the evangelical right wing's hypocricy that they're begining to become fearful of what that candidate will do under the cloak of "God". We've become cynical (and rightly so) of the evangelicals who scream God and have gay affairs when their wife isn't watching or preach for strong predator laws while text messaging under age male pages, etc.. etc...
As beautiful as I find the presence of God in our personal lives, I find that it's proven that it doesn't mix with government; not in our country and not in other countires. Our founding fathers were brilliant to have foreseen that danger and learned from other cultures when they pushed for a seperation of church and state. That's what's made America the wonderful country that it is, otherwise we'll end up in the Theocratic Republic of America which will be something like the Islamic Republic of Iran. I don't think any of us would want that.
Just my opinion.

Yes putting God back into government does not mean there is a religous test.it just means we have a better chance for moral politians. I wouldn't want to alter anything just bring it back to the way it was when it was written. For the constitution is not a living document. The only way it lives is with amendments. If it was a living document we wouldn't need amendments.

That's a stupid question, no one would say that because it's just dumb. If a liberal ran on bringing gay men into the government, would you vote for him? I can ask stupid questions too.

Yes, because it would be the second coming, and Jesus would make a Great politician, and we all know Jesus is a Republican.
