The banks in HK won't accept a credit union's cashier check...what am I to do???

that's usually the stale date, you then have to get a new check issued while returning the old one, but i would call to see if theres a fee involved and procedure to follow to renew check. a call may get your info started right away for you.

Possibly, and why anyone would wait so long is a mystery. Go to a bank tomorrow and cash it . . . they do have banks in HK.
