around my son for abt a yr!! The other day I had to call in sick bcos I couldnt find a babysitter and he was free all day!! I was so disappointed! We are engaged to marry in June and Im worried hes not the right fit for my son. I know he really loves me but he doesnt interact with my son unless I tell them to play a game together or ask him to help my son with something etc. Every time i question him he says he knows little abt kids but that he really cares for us both. Im so confused, he buys him stuff but I want them to be closer and have a good & fun relationship but its not happening!! Am I pushing it or do u think hes not ready to be a father to my son?

kids are very scary (i have3) and they freak me out all the time.....lol you need to let him know this could be a deal breaker for you but you are willing to take the time for him to get comfortable with the kid..

Do you feel in your heart that, perhaps, he doesn't like kids? Buying your son gifts could only mean he wants your approval, Maybe he needs more time to learn how to take care of a child and start loving him. I think there's a lot to discuss before getting married.

Maybe he is telling you the truth. He just don't know enough about kids to watch him own his own. sometimes it is hard, and I think it is harder for men, to bond with someone Else's child. they feel that if they do and something happens they will lose that child because they are not the child's parent.

if your son was an infant its understandable ,some guys don't want to admit it but they don't wanna be stuck taking care of someone Else's kid .....ask yourself what if u have a child with him ,will he help you ?

Doesn't sound like he is scared to me...sounds like he doesn't want to be a father period. I sure wouldn't have let it go on this long...

How old is he? He sounds very young and immature. Ask yourself if this is the life partner you really want.

don't force what should come natural, you might end up with a worse situation.
