If so, would like to know your opinion about something. I plan to order something in the mail. If the UPS guy shows up and I"m not home, will he leave it at my doorstep or leave me a note saying that he came and that I need to pick up my package at the UPS office? Because I rather leave a note saying that I want to pick up my package at their office. Anyone have the same experience?

Believe me, I have managed many communities and UPS, flower deliveries, etc... the driver will leave it at your door step if you are not home. And in some cases with neighbors you may not know. Ask your manager if they will accept packages? If so, when placing an order specify for UPS to leave your package with the manager.

It varies based on where you live. I know when I lived at two seperate apartment complexes the UPS guy left a notice stating that they will need a signature and since I was not home they will redeliver the next day. You can use that notice and call UPS and ask them to hold it for them and you pick it up.

I gave UPS a lot of lip once and now they just leave it at my door which I prefer since I'm not home 1/2 the time they delivery it.

If you pick it up you can be driving to the UPS location which is really anywhere in your vacinity. The next city over or just a drive down the street.

I lived at another apartment and they left it inside. So it really depends. If you live in a secure apartment where you have to ring a bell to enter they will have to have you sign it. If you live in a complex then they can leave it at the apartment complex office.

If you live in an appartment they generally will leave it at the rental office provided there is one on site where you live. If you are not there he will likely leave a note saying he left it at the (rental)office or that he will try again tomorrow. There is a phone # on the note you can call if you want them to hold it for you to come in and pick it up.

If it can be left in a secure place and doesn't require a signature (the sender can say they don't need a signature) then they might leave it. For example I have screen door and sometimes they will leave it inside the screen door hidden. I have even found it under my door mat. If you have the tracking # you can call ahead and tell them what you want.

Unless you specify otherwise it will be left at your door along with a note asking you to call the office verifying that you received the
package. I used to live in an apt. building and had to find out the hard way that everyone there wasn't honest. I would call the UPS
office and tell them not ot leave it if someone doesn't answer the door. just a note telling you where you can pick it up.

its been along time since I lived in an apartment. There was no ebay back then, but I can see how that would be a serious issue. Couldn't you have the stuff shipped to your work?? Thats what I do, no one is home during the day at home

well.....the UPS guy left my package at my door all day sitting there before i got home....it was a north face jacket, which was very expensive....someone could have just picked it up all day.....i guess i have somewhat honest neighbors.

They tend to just drop it off at your doorstep or by the indoor mailboxes.
