You leave japan at 12pm. midday.
You arrive 12 hours later assuming this is the flight time.
So you arrive midnight 12am Japan time.
UK are 9 hours behind Japan so you will arrive at 3pm UK time.
Same day and date.

Assuming the other way - UK back to Japan
The flight will take around 12 hours - that is direct from heathrow to Narita.
Japan are 9 hours ahead (8 during british summer time).

So if you leave midday 12pm uk time you will arrive at midnight 12am UK time. So the time in Japan will be 9 hours ahead 9am Japan time. The next day

But the most important thing is the transport system that you will come into. Heathrow London very close but bad rail system so you arrive hours later. Narita Tokyo good rail system but very far so again you arrive hours later.
If you plan to go from Japan to Derby, Uk then add a couple of days to your planning schedule ;-)

At the moment London is 9 hours behind Tokyo, so you will arrive on the same day, but the time will depend on the length of your journey. I guess you will arrive around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. In summer the time difference is 8 hours.
