My daughter has PCOS and the last two months she has had horrible pain in her ovaries or there about in her front about a week before she gets her period. She hadn't got her period for about 10 months or more now she has gotten it twice in a row. Does anyone know what is going on? Is that her ovary releasing ovums or is it something more serious? Can you help me because she is in terrible pain and I don't know what to do......

Women with PCOS commonly have achy ovaries. They are plump and tender because of the number of follicular cysts they contain. Oral contraceptive pills are often prescribed to regulate the period and decrease the number of follicular cysts.

Call her gynecologist tomorrow. She may need an ultrasound examination to rule out a larger cyst. She should not be experiencing "horrible" pain nonetheless.

My wife has got PCOD, she use to get irregular periods and she gets pain on and off whether or not she gets period. She consulted a gynec doctor they said nothing much to worry this would be secondary to policystic overy since the scan shows PCOD. It is not serious because your daughter got PCOD the best adivce is to get married early otherwise she will have to take treatment to get pregnent and if it is too late it is very hard to get pregnant. Also people with PCOD once they get pregnant it has seen that they get normal after baby delivery. You have to consult a doctor and confirm of the pain is due to the same.
