Maybe you are feeling vulnerable to the outside world when you are sleeping like your feet are in the open and somehow by being under the blanket you are safe. My Mom does the same thing. She would always think or dream someone was grabbing her feet when they weren't covered. I have nightmares when I fall asleep on my back. It never fails. I think I feel very vulnerable in that position like I can be attacked or hurt more easily. I have a friend that also has nightmares when sleeping on her back and she thinks the same thing. I also have a fear of any part of me dangling off the bed like an arm, leg, or foot.

You just feel insecure when your feet aren't covered. That's okay. It's just a little neurotic and quirky. Don't let it worry you. Just go ahead and keep your feet covered.
I can't sleep if I'm not wearing my underwear. My boyfriend doesn't get it, because in the day I can wear a sexy thong, but when I go to bed I change into full bikini cut panties that just turn him off.
Regarding the fear of someone under your bed.... Well, after a nightmare I often feel out of sorts and disturbed. Not quite thinking normally at 3 or 4 am. So it doesn't really surprise me that you have this--dare I say--irrational fear.
If you're really concerned, and this is bothering you, maybe you can book an appointment with a psychiatrist who specializes in dreams and dream therapy.

Sounds like you have a class 8 demon in your house, they can only enter your body through the toe nails while you are sleeping.
When you start to wake up, he has to leave quickly, and he puts off these bad vibes that you pick up on.
Just soak your feet in Holy Water every night before you go to bed, and leave your feet uncovered. After about a month, he'll get a clue and move on to another house.
But since they are not very powerful, you may need to leave a window open for him to get out.

Maybe its a sign that something will happen to ur back. That may not be good. OR, you just to build a stronger mind since it kinda seems that you have been conditioned to have nightmares every single time u sleep on your back. Here, do this...say a prayer, I mean from the heart. Perhaps ur in a weak state of mind and need some holy intervention. Good luck...

I'm 25 and still can't sleep w/out my feet being covered! I used to have horrible nightmares as a kid and I figured that out, too! If you find a reason let me know!

most dreams are said to be images of thoughts that are being arranged in your mind. nightmares that reoccur r usually related to bad memories that are triggered by something that relates to them, causing them to happen.
the easy way to deal with that would be to maybe wear socks so your feet are always covered even if they pop from under the blanket, or try to find a way to confront the bad memory and bring the fear or trauma to the surface and overcome it.

It's a coincidence - but most nightmares are born from fear. Hey, I guess if it makes you uncomfortable it could be nightmare-inducing. I think you need a nerd for this one.
