You have to prove that you are the sole survivor of your father and if there was a will leaving the house to you?

You should check with a probate attorney in Puerto Rico. He will be able to tell you the laws there about going through probate and other legal requirements necessary to claim the property.

You will not be able to just walk in tell the county recorder that you are your father's daughter and now you want to have the property signed over to you.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

The property will go where the will says it goes.
If there was no will, the state will determine how it is distributed in probate court.
Contact the executor of the will or if none, ask the court about the estates probate proceedings.
