Yea, The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking at moving. The biggest problem is that the city is not really working to keep the team. With GREAT deals from Houston and KC the Pens are receiving deals from their home town that is laughable,

From what I hear:
Kansas City is offering them a new arena, tax breaks, and the total take or a VERY large portion on many venue items like concessions and parking.

Houston I have no idea on the details.

Pittsburgh is offering them a new arena but they want half the parking, half the concessions and xxxx amount in funds. Meaning WAY more pay out for the club.

It just goes to show you that everything is moving south. That really hurts. The Pens are my team. I’m in Dallas Stars territory, born and bred here. I am a Stars fan and really overall a BIG hockey fan. I’d just hate to see the Pens pack up and move to some other city.

Kansas City has already had their try. They couldn’t keep a hockey team the last time they had one. They couldn’t keep a NBA team either… Is their market more improved now? Will they have the stamina to keep an EXPENSIVE sport like a PRO hockey team?

Who knows,…..

At the population of only around 300,000 people in Pittsburgh what are they thinking. They need to DRAW more people to the area. Now I see why many people are leaving,

how can they be seriously considering a move to Houston when Lemieux hasnt even talk to city officials. Arena talks in Pittsburgh have reportedly bogged down, and while the Penguins have an offer on the table from Kansas City officials, they appear open to visiting more cities.
Owner Mario Lemieux is expected to visit the Toyota Center this week.

owner of the Toyota Center Leslie Alexander has said he would like to own an NHL team in Houston and has met on several occasions with potential investors. but he and Lemieux over the past week havent commented on anything, Mario Lemieux is expected to visist Houson sometime next week. but the offer fro Kansas City is still on the table.

During the all-star game, Lemieux and the other Penguins officials did check out Houston, but I believe it is more of a way to gain leverage with the Pittsburgh Politicians after talks did not go well.

One day its Kansas City, the next its Portland and now its Houston. Just a lot of talk to get the politicians to put an offer on the table to keep the team in Pittsburgh. The pols bowed to the Pirates and Steelers and gave them new stadiums, so the Penguins want the same deal. They'll eventually get it and to sweeten it, the Pens will get to play in Mellon Arena for free until a new arena is built. No Houston, Santa is not bringing the Pens to town, they're staying in the burgh.

I think Houston is trying hard to woo them just as KC has done. It appears they might be shopping around to get the best possible offer from PA government officials. The KC deal put together was a rent-free offer to play in the new state-of-the-art Sprint Center. I'm not a hockey fan but would definitely become one if the Crosby and the Pens moved to town here in KC.

I read where it is a rumor. The Pens owe it to themselves to respond to all offers and to check into the ones they feel are best for them.

Doing so helps them to show the state of Pennsylvania that the prospect of losing the team is serious and the fact that other cities are willing to make it enticing for them to move gives the Pens better bargaining power.

These things lead to rumors, it's anyone's guess whether they move or not. My money is on them staying in Pittsburgh.

Have heard it, doubt it will ever happen. No more teams needed in the south no matter how big the market is. There is no support for hockey in the south. Why would they move from a good fan base to a non-hockey market like the southern states. Look at the ASG week, how terrible it was in Dallas.

I think a way will be found for plan B to work out. Being courted by other cities and spreading rumours about moving is a good way to keep Pittsburgh city council's feet on the fire.
