Women of Color, Women in General-What do you think about Halle Berry?

I am not trying to hate on anyone but it seems men seem to place so much emphasis on women who are beautiful but have no class (degrade themselves on tv and show lack of integrity, i.e.Halle Berry, etc.) I am not trying to hate on Halle Berry-I actually was a big fan of hers, but to me my man thinks she is all that, (and I understand men will find other people attractive), But I feel I look just as good if not better, and I know a ton of woman who look better and act way better than her-yet she is put on a pedestal as a token black woman-who is willing to take off her clothes and cater to what the media (the Man) wants just to get attention. I feel we as woman should strive for better than that-afterall noone forces us to take off our clothes or compromise our values and shouldn't a good man think the same way!? I know a lot of people on here may think I am a hater-but I have no reason to be jealous-I just want to know what the big deal is-am I missing something?

I think that she is a very talented, beautiful woman. I agree with you on the issue of values and don't think that you are asking out of jealousy. I too am curious as to why she feels that she needs to do this since she was blessed with her talent. There is really no need for her to lower herself just to get more box office appeal.

She only takes her clothes off when the role calls for her to do so. In that respect she is no different than most other actresses. I think I see where you are going. Halle sold women of color out with her antics on Monster's Ball. If she had not have taken off her clothes and acted like a p' star in the movie there would be no academy for her and you regret her representing pretty black women. I have never thought of Halle as being a great actress. There are plenty other actresses out there that can run circles around her. In my opinion, she did a better job of acting in the movie "Losing Isaiah". I was not impressed with her in "Monster's Ball. I guess she is more pleasing to the eye than anything else.
