My wife will be on 5 months pregnant and we have a toddler. We like historical, quaint and inexpensive. We need somplace that has major aminities near it as well as kid friendly! We would prefer to drive not fly so gulf coast to Kentucky to about memphis and the Georgia / Carolina coast would work as well. Early May is the time frame for 4 to 6 days. We want to keep it under 700 for hotel.

I'm biased since I'm originally from Savanah, but it is still inexpensive, and has a long history (from 1733), many beautiful Georgian homes, lovely squares, etc. If you are also a Civil War buff, there is Fort Pulaski (built by a young West Point graduate, named Robert E. Lee) and Fort McAllister. May is good since Savannah can be hot and humid in the Summer. In addition to chain hotels, there are many B&Bs in Savannah. Give it a try!

You would just love Savannah Ga. Since downtown is the Historic District, it's very rich in history and culture. Tibee island (see the dolphins) is a great family fun spot with lots to see. Fun for your toddler too! Besides, looks like you have a unanimous and majority response. Three is a charm you know!

Charleston SC, Orlando has a great little town call CELEBRATION.

Savannnah is a wonderful historic city. Williamsburg, VA is family oriented with lots to do if you are interested in the colonial period of US history. And Miami Beach, FL is lots of fun.
