before you do it on pointe, you should be able to do it on soft shoes. if you've completed, then just do it the same way! it's scary first so start by quarter, then half turns.

It doesn't sound like you should be on pointe at all. If your aren't on pointe and are deciding to just put some pointe shoes and try turns, I wouldn't advise it. You could serious hurt yourself. Plus a fact, your ankles and legs aren't strong enough to support you and keep you up en pointe. However, if you still want to learn to turn in regular ballet shoes, I'll tell you.
Start with your legs in third or fifth position, which ever leg is in the front, tendu it out to the side (point it out to the side), then take it to the back into fourth position. From there you will pull the back leg up into passe, and turn clock wise. These are en dehor turns from fourth.
To better your turns, check your alignment.
Take your position as if you were getting ready to turn. Is your back straight and not curved? Is your rear end sticking out? Are you centered in your position (particularly fourth). Make sure your stomach is pulled in. The harder you spot, the more rotations you will be able to get. When you pull up into passe, make sure you get a high passe and pretend as you pull up you are pushing your other leg down into the floor.
DO NOT use your arms or throw your upper body to get your momentum going, it will not work. If it does work, you won't be able to get more than 1 turn in and I can garantee you will be on the floor.

you need to be able to spring up and role through on pointe before doing turns... if you know how to do this then you already are aware that pirouettes can be done from any position... but first position should be first! it will teach you proper alignment in plie while it controls your upper half not to "wind up" for the turn.
practice close to the bar and hold on to stop a few times and then just take it slow. I definately would learn this ata class and not on my own!

Do you have toe shoes? Stand in 3rd position push up onto your right toe and use your arms to create the motion needed to go around to the right.

im a beginner, and my teacher has instructed me to plie as much as i could, and pull up a lot. i tried, and it really did help! tip: go through demi-pointe when you go up while turning, it helps! also, make sure your torso isn't sticking out, it will make you lose your balance.
