Cousins can marry in many cultures as the risk of birth defects is extremely low. Here in the UK I do not think it is illegal but is not recommended.

Yes it happens quite often, one of my flatmates at university who was from Pakistan was married to his cousin. I found out from him that it was quite a usual thing. I decided that it would probably not be very sensitive to mention that inter-breeding and incest can cause deformities and illnesses, so I didn't.

Not sure about Paki ppl but I'm sure it is b/c My husband is from Egypt and he said they do out there...I was goin to meet my male cousin and he got mad b/c he thought it was a date lol..so yea i'd say so...it's normal there and Paki ppl are Muslim like Egyptians
