........why do so many shop at Walmart?

Because most people do not see the connection. Ignorance is bliss although sometimes confusing. They don't understand why they lost their job and our economy is in freefall while they drive their foreign car to walmart and costco to stock up on made in china with slave labor inferior quality goods. (Some punctuation should go in there somewhere) And for all the people who wonder why we should be concerned, wake up. China has already threatened us with conventional and nuclear weapons on quite a few occasions. So far we have given them what they wanted. But when they want something we cannot or will not give/do then just watch for the pretty little mushroom clouds.

For one, I am not worried.

And two, what is good for China is good for the US. What many people don't realize is that world trade is good for an economy. It may cost a handfull of people their jobs here in the US, but at the same time it creates many more jobs than what were lost, yet you never hear that. The news seems to make a big deal about a factory closing down and everyone loosing their jobs, but they don't seem to ever mention that fact that 20 other factories just increased their employment force by five percent.
Here are two things that you can ponder over.
First is the fact that when jobs are exported from the US to another country, that the people in that country are doing better off, and in return they buy more goods from the US (the US is the second largest exporter of goods behind Germany) For the people that think that that isn't fair because of wages and work environment, I can guarantee that if those people weren't better off from this new job they wouldn't be working there.
Second, imagine living in a world without trade. To do this start by dividing the US in half and then stop trading from one side to the other. Then go further, think what it would be like to not trade outside of your state. Now, don't trade outside of your city. My guess is that you wouldn't be on your computer reading this, unless you live in the same city as Bill Gates.
Anyway, onto another question....

There are so many already so economically diminished, that Wal Mart is the only choice. Corporate America has everyone living paycheck to paycheck, and as jobs continue to go overseas the checks are getting smaller. Soon, with China owning so much of Bush's massive debt, we will all be working for the Chinese anyway, so we might as well get used to buying their products.
