I suspect this has something to do with Bill Cowher. Your thoughts?

It has nothing to do with Bill Cowher, thats totally different. They kept him because he's gone to the play-offs, and they want to keep a consistant coach who will get them further.

They kept him because the players said they like him and the people in the front office like him. The truth is that if the Giants want Eli to ever become the player he is supposed to be they need two things. An offensive genius and a head coach that isn't going to put so much pressure on him. It's obvious that Eli is afraid of Coughlin. He needs a players coach that won't make him scared to make a mistake.

No one is available this year that can truly make a difference. Next year all kinds of contracts will be open - Schotenheimer, Cowher, Lovie smith, Tony Dungy, even Billechik I believe, they are already calling it the "class of 2008".

the giants are going to keep Coughlin another year, if he doesn't do well next season, he will be out..as for Maning its a wait and see..but after 3 seasons already, he should be improving & hes not..if he doesn't improve next seaon the quarterback job should be up for grabs or draft a top quarterback in the college draft. enough is enough of Manning..i get disgusted watching him

if coughlin doesn't get this team to PLAY football, then i sure hope we wise up and fire coughlin after next season!!!!

i dont think it has to do anything with bill cower but to be honest i dont know the answer.......i would have thougth they would have gotten rid of him but i guess they just figure it was just a bad year with the giants and that hes doing a fairly good job
